About

I grew up here in East Sussex and as a child was always out and about with my family exploring our lovely countryside. This cultivated a love and wonder of nature, our beautiful seasons and the simple pleasures these bring.

I studied at Edinburgh College of Art, specialising in Interior Design, with the natural world a constant inspiration to me. Working life lead me into theatre and I have been involved in theatre costume for the past 20 years.

I loved to garden from a young age with my dear gran giving me a little patch of my own in her garden. The magic of planting a tiny seed and seeing it grow and produce flowers or fruit still blows my mind.

And so, I began growing flowers, taking on an allotment where I cultivated without the use of chemicals for my own pleasure and for family and friends. The learning curve was (and continues to be) steep, the defeats frustrating but each flower in bloom was an unquantifiable reward.

I studied at the wonderful Bath Flower School on their professional floristry course. There I built on the skills I already had and soaked up lots of new ones.

Cut to now and expanding my growing space and setting up Staged It Flowers. A nod to the theatre, because what could be more dramatic and evocative than a flower in full bloom?!
